ClassiPress v3.1 is Now Available

I’m pleased to finally be able to announce the highly anticipated, long awaited, release of ClassiPress 3.1! This has been a release in the making for many months and is a culmination of countless hours of work from our entire team and our beta testers (thanks guys & gals).

ClassiPress 3.1 announcement

The most notable features in this release include:

Advanced Search

ClassiPress refine search page

Not all categories have the same type of ads, right? For example, ad listings for cars would be quite different than real estate listings. Not to worry. ClassiPress 3.1 now sports the most advanced WordPress search around. It allows you to create category-specific search modules so your visitors can easily refine their search results.

Each category search module includes a radius (by city or zip code) and price slider for pinpoint accuracy (due to geocoding each ad using the Google Maps API) along with any other category-specific fields you’d like to include.

ClassiPress 3.1 (Release Candidate 1)

The time to release ClassiPress 3.1 is here. After much coding and testing, we are publishing release candidate one and making it available to all customers. While we have completed extensive internal testing and had the help of many experienced ClassiPress users in the beta testing period, releasing the product to a wider audience is the ultimate criterion.

We are making sure that we are prepared to immediately tackle any problems that may come up in the next few days. Yumiko and her team are prepped to handle any extra activity in the forums and the developers are ready to attack any bugs.

Latest News from AppThemes

We have a lot of news-worthy things going on here at AppThemes. We decided that we would put it all in one big news post. So here we go:

ClassiPress 3.1: We’re Almost There

Is it a miracle? You might think so. The release of CP3.1 is just a couple of days away. We had a very good round of testing and the developers are taking care of the last of any lingering issues. We expect that a full release candidate will be ready very soon.

We made an extra effort to review internally before releasing CP3.1 to beta testing, so we think we will have a very solid update. However, there always seems to be one or two things that are uncovered after a release as big as this. We are planning to follow up with a minor release in about four to five weeks.

Moving forward, we are going to make an effort to update ClassiPress once every six months. As soon as we complete this update, we will be making plans for the next release.

We would like to extend a big “Thank you!” to everyone that helped us test ClassiPress 3.1. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Call for ClassiPress 3.1 Beta Testers

ClassiPress 3.1 beta testingIt’s official! We’re about to launch the beta testing program for ClassiPress v3.1 and we need your help!

We have a limited number of spaces available, so a selection process will take place in order for us to gather the most suitable team of testers for this release.

Since it is important for us to ensure that the beta testers have the relevant amount of experience using ClassiPress, testing spots will be limited to existing AppThemes customers already using this theme.

Being a beta tester actually requires a lot of work on your part, so before signing up, please make sure you are ready for the commitment. You will need to dedicate several hours of your time (over a two-week period) to help flush out any bugs before 3.1 is ready for a GA release.

AppThemes is WordCamping

WordCamp San DiegoRoad Trip! We’re getting ready to attend three WordCamps this summer and we want to meet you there.

The first WordCamp is just a few days away in Reno. We’ll be making the beautiful drive over the Sierra Nevadas to attend WC Reno. We’re really looking forward to it.

Next up is WordCamp San Diego on July 16. This will be San Diego’s first WordCamp and they have had a great response. The 200 available tickets sold out in no time. We’re even more stoked about WCSD as it will be the first WordCamp sponsored by AppThemes. To top it off, the World Champion Giants (yes, we are fans) will be in San Diego to play the Padres. WordCamp on Saturday and hot dogs and baseball on Sunday – how could it get any better?

Of course, the big event will be WordCamp San Francisco in August. There’s no way we’d miss this one. We’re making plans to do something fun that weekend and we will have more news later.

If you are planning to attend any of these events, let us know. We’d love to meet you in person. Also, if you are local to the San Francisco Bay Area, try dropping in at a WordPress meetup. David is one of the organizers for the San Francisco WordPress meetup and will be speaking at the next meeting.

It’s going to be a great summer. Hopefully we will get a chance to meet you in person.

Cheers
Shannon
