Taskerr – Coming Soon to a Browser Near You

Taskerr theme teaser

Not far behind the release of HireBee, we’re just about ready to roll out another app theme. Before doing so, we wanted to leak out this little teaser prior to the official launch later this month.

Taskerr allows you to setup and monetize your own micro jobs website. Match job listers with sellers so they can get small things done at an unbeatable value. You make money by taking a fee from each job. Earning passive income is really that easy!

Create a specific niche or go with a broad approach. The sky’s the limit on whatever micro job service you’d like to provide.

Stay tuned as we’ll be announcing the release in the next couple of weeks!

    I noticed that you said:
“You make money by taking a percentage of each job.”

How have you worked this out in comparison to HireBee, which currently charges fees (not percentage) for posting / bidding credits on projects?

Is there ability to hold funds in escrow until “task” is marked completed – then pay out vendor and keep percentage?

@jpatt, that was a mistake which I’ve since changed. Currently both themes take a fee. We’re working on an escrow system which will be available in the coming months. It’ll work with HireBee and Taskerr.

Thanks for clearing this up for us all. I look forward to the addition of an escrow system.

I know scheduling accurate completion dates is difficult but is “in the coming months” by the end of summer?

@jpatt, we don’t have an exact date yet. Our developers have just started specing it out so actual coding won’t being for another week or two. It’s a top priority for us.

  • Mike

Thank you, David! Does it mean Taskerr will have an escrow system? Will it be using Paypal Adaptive or something like Balanced Payments?

    • author
      David

@mike, not initially. We’re working on a solution for both themes. It’s looking like PayPal first since it’s more widely used.

Thanks for the heads up David. I’m very excited for this theme. Bought a domain for it and everything.

I tried similar themes before and they were just crap *cough* Mile. This one seems promising and the design looks sweet!

I’ve never been so excited for a WP them before. Keep up the good work guys.

Lmao! I wouldn’t believe anything that guy says. He makes thousands of promises and has yet to keep one. That theme prob won’t come out in another year or so.

And like all the themes on there will be buggy as crap and he will just ignore all the complaints.

Its from mile its the guy who owns the company Andrei. Someone in one of his forums awhile ago mentioned you guys were coming out with the taskerr theme.

That’s how I found out about taskerr initially. He has a similar theme and its been out for a year or so but its mostly in beta and don’t work at all not sure why hes still selling it. But hes supposed to come out with a new improved version of it.

Anyway he replied to the person that mentioned your guys theme and accused u guys of taking the name from that theme since it has a very similar name. I almost spilled my soda all over myself not sure why anyone would wanna knock off any of his buggy themes.

David, have you guys ever considered coming out with an Auction theme. I know there are a few out there for WP and I’ve checked them out but they weren’t any good.

I would think this sort of theme would be perfect for Appthemes. That or a crowdfunding theme.

A “theme” that was originally scheduled for release 20th Nov. 2012. Unfortunately the site owner kept taking payments for it while pushing out the release date for almost two years.

I have great patience – so waiting for a few weeks, months or quarter or more is worth it for an Apptheme quality theme.

Have been an Apptheme member since Sept. 2010. Appthemes is doing it right – being honest about theme release status & keeping members informed is important. Equals Integrity & Trust.

David, will Taskerr have a form builder like Hirebee does? I know someone mentioned that on the other blog and one of the devs said he would bring that up to you guys.

@gocards86, initially no custom form builder. If it’s a popular request, it shouldn’t be too hard to add later.

Great news! Very excited for this release. Will Taskerr feature custom fields (a must have feature for a theme of this nature I believe) and if not will we see it it the marketplace?

Will we be able to configure it so buyers/sellers can post with no percentage to the site owner?

Perhaps also the option to do paid listings where users can pay for thei listing to be more prominent if the pay?

@bellboy, no custom fields in version 1.0. I believe a fee is required for each transaction. It’s a monetization theme. 😉 Maybe a paid listings feature in the future.

What will be the main main difference between HireBee and Taskerr?

I´m one week to release my HireBee site, so I´m curious about Taskerr

    Hi David,

Will Taskerr have better geolocation and location filters than HireBee? Is there a way you can add a TENTATIVE List of features on this blog post so we can stop salivating? 🙂

@Thor, we haven’t released it yet so there is no .pot file available. 😉 Regardless, if we miss something, please let us know in the forums and we’ll fix in the next release.

        • Thor

Yes sorry 🙂 it was the HireBee theme that I was going to mentioning, but I I hope the Taskerr will contain the .pot file that can be translate 100% 🙂

Would be great, if it has a map included like jobify and could be used for the european market as well (translation; payment; checkouts etc).

@Angelica, since this is version 1.0, it won’t have a ton of features. As we get feedback from our customers, the theme will evolve accordingly. We find this methodology works best so we don’t build a bunch of features in 1.0 that nobody wants.

That’s a good approach David. Who wants a bloated theme with tons of features that makes your site run really slow. Some themes on Themeforrest literally have like a thousand features various sliders/sidebars. Those themes must run at a snails pace.

I’m glad Taskerr is on its way can’t wait to test it out.

    Hi,

Taskerr – Very impressive theme. Is there a way to add filtering (or any working plugin available)?

Example: to filter by location, gender, etc. I believe this is an important features for many.

Thank you and hope to receive your reply soon.

@acube, no location filter in this version. It seems to be a popular request already so we’ll discuss internally. Thanks.

Hi, im not a customer yetbut have been eagerly observing the Vantage and Taskerr developments. Although initially impressed by the M!le marketing features ive decided to wait for Taskerr to mature a bit. Geolocation features are very important to me as is a robust pricing model to include percentage of sales as well as the membership model. Judging by the support within your forums I’ve got faith in you guys and gals! Regards Amanda
