| PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPN)
IPN is PayPal’s message service that sends a notification back to ClassiPress (behind the scenes) when a transaction is affected. Unlike “PayPal Website Payments Standard”, no user interaction is required (i.e. click on a return to site button) to complete the transaction. Everything happens automatically. It will also update your transaction logs when events like refunds are given, eCheck payments are completed/denied, etc. Essentially it allows PayPal to push updates directly into your ClassiPress database so you will always have the most up-to-date transaction log.
